Hello, I just opened my childhood stamp collection from the late 70's and I came across the 2 cent red Washington stamp. After comparing it to numerous other examples I would say It closely matches the scott 539 series. The only rarity is that it is perforated on 3 sides.
Any Ideas?

Your stamp is perf 10 on all sides, so it won't be a 539 which is perf 11x10. Sorry.
Yours will be 425 or a 463 depending in the watermark in the paper.

Jason, the 3 sided perforation is not a rarity either. If you look in de front of the Scott Specialized Catalog it will explain the outlay of the sheets of these stamps.
