Hi all-

I have recently inherited a small collection of international stamps. I was pleased to find the stamp show was going to be here in Pittsburgh in a couple weeks. I believe I've identified which stamps I have, but have had a difficult time verifying their value. I figured the show will be the perfect place to have these looked at.

The collection is made up of Eastern European, Central and South American stamps from 1850's - 1919. I was hoping to find recommendations on who would be the best to have look at these?

Thanks

Hi..and welcome to the forum..You seem to have inherited a very nice
CLASSIC COLLECTION and those years may contain some very valuable stamps.

Dont let those volchers try to give you a value..They will only low ball you.

You may want to pick up a Scotts Classic Catalog..Its only one volume
and you can get a good estimate of what your collection is worth

It's great to find somebody who can help and gives honest advice. It's been difficult to find direction on this over the past couple of weeks. I noticed so many comments to the Scott's Catalog and it's many volumes. Is this Classic volume hard to find and expensive?

You can use it free if your local library carries them.. Look in the reference section.

If you want to purchase one, go to the show at Pittsburgh, and look for Subway stamps. They sell them..Its just one volume

Thanks Dianne, I've already received some.

I've been trying all day to get a get digital photo of some of the stamps, but can't seem to get a clear shot. I figured that's something a lot may like to see. They seem to be well taken care of. If the info on them is correct, they seem to be rather valuable.

I'll try to get to the library between work and all, but luckily I work 2 blocks from the show in a couple weeks. I'm sure I'll get at least some info there.

thanks again
