Since I'm planning on posting some offerings on stampoffers.com soon, I thought I'd finalize how I plan on packaging stamps to be sent.

I'd be selling/shipping used stamps, so I don't think a plastic bag would be necessary (no mint bricks! ). I'm planning on using a cardboard and paperboard (like cereal boxes) sandwich OR just a paperboard sandwich with glassine(s) taped to the inside-center of it. Since there is a cost difference in shipping an envelope with a rigid object vs. not, is there much benefit from using the cardboard? Or does it depend on the size of the shipment? I'm not planning on sending anything larger than a letter size envelope. Also, when do you say enough is enough and stop stuffing stamps into a single glassine and using a second (or third, etc.)?

Ok, one more question... supposing you have a large enough glassine, is there anything wrong with setting several little stacks of stamps side by side inside the glassine to reduce thickness? (like perfs catching and damaging each other) Or is this an example where separate glassines for each stack to separate the perfs is recommended?

I'm just trying to imagine what might go wrong and how to set my shipping costs appropriately; I've never done this before and I'd like to skip the newbie shipping mistakes. Thanks for your input everyone!
