Good afternoon everyone. I went back to work part time which is cutting into my stamp sorting! But I do have some new questions. On the following, is it better to keep these stamps together to show the cancel or does it even matter??
thanks
Donna

They are better together as a block. If these were soak off a package that cancel is a common extra cancel used on any additional stamps on the package. Surprisingly well center cancels also, great examples of this type of cancel. Also leave the selvege(the extra margins) on these stamps.

Those stamps are "blocks of four" and if they were mine I would keep them together to show the cancels. It's a personal choice. Some people might break them into singles to sell or add to their collection as a single stamp if they aren't into collecting blocks. The stamps you are showing are pretty common ones.

Cancelled or not, such blocks should be kept intact.

As everyone says, a general rule is to never separate blocks or remove selvage unless there is an overwhelming reason to do so. Common blocks may not be worth more in the long run, but then again it's real cheap and easy to find a single to mount.
