Can somebody tell me if this "Kings Bridge" postmark is from NYC?

Thanks!

These (and also those in the other thread) are excellent, David!

So often, we only see the ones with numbers, or just the bands.

Your pics show nice clean legible strikes!

From a google search that brought me to wikipedia

"Kingsbridge is a working class residential neighborhood geographically located in the northwest Bronx, New York."

Thanks, Ziggy... I'll write that one up, too. I saw another at a stamp show from Hawaii. It read "OAHU". Very nice, but, unfortunately, on an expensive stamp.

Thank-you, K. I look for clean strikes. I have all kinds of different numbers, including with or without circles around the numbers, up to 96. Of course, I am missing some numbers. As well, I have a collection of letters (A, B, R, P, etc.). I have an empty one, and one with a star (Texas?).

I have a selection of some that say "Air Mail". I'll put those ones up a little later.

Sounds like what you have is a duplex star cancel. As far as I know, not related to Texas. I think it was used in Pennsylvania, maybe a few other places? Don't hold me to it, as I don't collect covers. I'm headed out. I'll try to locate a pic and post it when I return.

David,

Thanks for posting the pic of your duplex star cancel. It's especially nice on the beacon air mail!

The Duplex Star Cancel was used starting around the late 1800's in a number of places, not necessarily related to Texas.

Here is one from Ambler, Pennsylvania:

and here is one actually from Texas:

Nice covers, K. Good information, too.

Thank-you for sharing.

Glad you liked seeing the covers. For the record, they are not mine as I don't collect covers. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy looking at covers. I pilfered those pics off the web to provide examples of usage in other regions.
