I need some suggestions, folks.

I collect U.S. used, except for the Americana Definitive Series (1975-1981). I have mint and used stamps, FDCs and postal history.

I collect all four corners of each plate, dull & shiny gum. I have each plateblock in a clear mount. My question... how do I mount these? Two sets to a page? I did not want to overlap them... thoughts?

How do you mount your plateblocks?

Thanks!

David

David,

I buy custom mounts and cut them for each plate block. In my album I am able to get two to a page without problems.

I'm working on completing a collection of all plate block numbers of certain U.S. airmails and wanted to be able to display all four on a Scott/Advantage stock sheet page. Some of the bigger issues have to be overlapped to do that. I liked the overlapped look better than two to a page. I guess it's just personal preference.

Personally I like to mount two plate blocks to a page using Hawid 130/85d custom mounts or the like, but with the ready made pages that are set up for three block number spaces there's usually not much you can do to the page but to fill the holes, one day I'll customise an album but with my limited technical ability I'll have to make do with what I have.
I've also brought albums that have several plate blocks scattered on a blank page, pages that only have a border and are blank underneath the block these look very untidy at first glance and this is why I agree, two to a page with out overlapping does look neater.

regards
