Basically the die cuts are created by a single solid tool or plate, but it's attached to a cylinder with three sections. There are tiny gaps between the sections. If the sections lose alignment through material slipage or tension changes, the minor shifts may occur resulting in the die cut variations.

Very interesting.

Different printing technique then than the Canada flower coils which I ran on about in an earlier post.
