Favourite stamp? Mine changes all the time - here it is today, the 1951 Canada 5c stamp centenary. Nicely Engraved, you can even read the mail ship name, "City of Toronto". |

Where have I seen that one before London00pbus . Thinking about favourite stamps, me thinking never a good idea, One of my favourites is not because of the stamp but because of the person that gave it to me and the reason for giving it. I don't particularly like the stamp but a friend at work gave it to me when my mum passed away, she has never collected stamps but knew I did... the note on the envelope read "It was the prettiest one I could find at the post office, hope you feel better". I still have this image of her going to the post office and asking to look through their stamps to find the prettiest one. The clerks couldnt have been to happy - I know the evil looks I get when I ask for the latest miniature sheet and if they could take some care in handling it. StampStudy |

Londonbus, I am envious and trying very hard not to break a commandment. I have just passed the 400 mark in my Machin collection, and find that the thirst is still not satisfied.
StampStudy, that is a very touching story. So sorry for your loss. |

Rod222, that Lovecraft was a starge dude! I pity his poor wife--but yes, he would have been the type to think up this type of stamp Paraguay 1978 set May the force be with you! Gussyboy1 (right here ,it would be so totally cool to have a little smilie with a darth vader helmet on!) |

Cjd that 1 pound stamp has me drooling! The mix of colours and design! It is totally beautiful! So well centered! The perfs are excellent! I bet it has a large price tag as well! Thanks for sharing! It is not too often that a stamp grabs me like this one!
I wonder if the break in the outer frame top right means anything? And the white shading on inner frame right mid to bottom?
It looks like a stamp that could hold a lot of varieties! |
