Its the high value of the 1933 set often referred to as the "Wilberforce" set, a set which unfortunately does pretty well holding its value against Scott's catalogue value. I don't hold out any great hope of running across it at 25% of Scott.
It is a sharp set overall, but the second- and third-highest values (George V, and an elephant) are also very, very nice.
I think it has all of the qualities mentioned, plus the magic from the designer/engraver of making two colors look like so much more... |

Amazing. Bee See and Rod. Wow.
Rod, how many moons have you been acquiring and sorting out all the data and info you have? I like it!

About 10 moons puzzler my hopeful motto "sort it as soon as you get it" but it never works that way does it. If you leave boxes of stamp junk around, it seems to multiply. |

Puzzler, here is the lithographic stone, that printed the siblings to BeeSee's stamp. (it was only discovered in the 1970's) The arrow points to the location that printed this stamp. |

Mine too, Nugget :) I still do not own one, whenever I get tempted, I see another lot of 2kg of stamps I can buy with the $500.
I recently identified the man who forged the penny Bridge in an old magazine.

A famous "Appleby" cover, possibly 50 or more from this Englishman, I saw one go at auction here about eight years ago for around $40 |
