One would think so, since the 3rd rank in the specialty book says "no gum".

For dealers like them, that usually means hinged or part original gum, not mint never hinged. It is more important to know the terminology that each dealer uses, as it isn't as fixed as everybody would like. When they focus on OG, that merely means it has not been regummed.

Great point khj. I once saw an ebay seller listing a stamp as OG. In their definitions on the lower part of the page, it gave their definition of OG as being No Gum.

How in the world can OG (which I read as original gum) possibly mean no gum?

Perhaps a seller whose mother tongue is German? "oG" = "ohne Gummi" = "without gum".
