Hi everyone, I'm Rachel. I have three young children and breed chickens.I like crafts, cooking and keeping my family happy. I recently brought some stamps by accident on ebay thinking they were rubber stamps and thought they were quite pretty so thought I should do some research into what I have. I dont think there verry collectible but I also don't think it matters because I like the ones I have, I am interested in learning more and hope to become an active member of the community.

Rubber stamping I can't put aside yet because I am so behind on cards and gifts for christmas that I think I will be in a mass panic by october.

chicken stamps.. now theres an idea I hadnt thought of.

scanning the stamps I can do, im afraid there probably nothing extitng, altho I would have loved it if they were rubber stamps. there actually quite pretty tho, and I hadnt realised there were so many people collecting them.

I'm assuming you're a "stamper". So is my sister.

I am currently seeking treatment for her.

On the other hand, she is seeking treatmeant for my stamp addiction.

We shall see who wins....

Welcome. You definitely have found the key already. The stamps you have acquired are indeed collectible, simply because you lie them and wish to keep (collect) them. Enjoy your new new hobby and your your new friends.

Lots of people collect birds on stamps. Great and beautiful topic.

You could still be stamping while you are stamping. Just transfer your skills from stamping to making cachets (funny, informative, anything) on First day covers, which are envelopes with a stamp or set of stamps on, canceled on the first day of issue. Usual ones have a hand painted or hand drawn cachet but stamping seems to me to be the ideal thing to do to create wonderful covers.

Or just enjoy the stamps.

I was thinking about displaying them in a scrapbook and adding some decopage and some stamps (the rubber type) to the pages and arranging the stamps in there, but from what I have read on here, I am guessing I shouldnt be doing that and I should be putting them into a proper album?

currently they are in a few envelopes so I would like to display them niceley,

I am currently scanning them, could someone tell me where I put the pictures once I have scanned them please? and do I need to put them somewere like photobucket 1st?

How you want to display your stamps is perfectly OK. There is no golden rule thingie about it at all. There are some collector approved methods but only because they work better than other methods and it all depends on finances and desires and needs too. As long as you are having fun and are happy about your stamps, that's the main thing.

There is a Tutorial link called Uploading Photos on the left side of the screen menu choices near the top, or once you have chosen the link to Reply to a Topic and an editing window pops open, there is a link above that 'Uploading Images'. If that doesn't quite explain it then come back and ask more questions please.

There is a testing area to try out your ideas also.
