I am a sucker for these old albums. I find they can be picked up for very reasonable amounts as the stamps inside are often very common types and not usually very good condition but there are always exceptions.
They also contain snapshots of the Geographical/Political landscape of the time they were printed which is very interesting for me.

Here are a couple to start -

A 'Victory' Album 7th Edition

A 14th Edition

Article from 14th Edition (Approx. 1942)

Example pages

I bought another last night which I'll upload later.

The address for the company that printed these is 151-157 Goswell Road which is close to where I work.
I took a walk recently to see what was there now.
The building is still there but empty for the most part but of all thing there is a mini Post Office at 151.

These are very much like the ones I have inherited/been given. The country descriptions are a real blast from a very different past. Do you keep them intact, or empty them out?

As you can see the condition is not great so it really depends on both album and stamp condition as to what I do with them. I don't feel guilty about stripping out stamps as most have been picked over at some point previously.

I have emptied all mine, so that I can make them into one collection. I felt a bit funny at first, but I have kept some of the covers and pages as a reminder.

Those are nice albums Anthony. They would look good on any philatelic bookshelf. Thanks for sharing!

I too think you are on to something - they are history books - particularly the hard back albums.

The "Ace Junior"

Another (aptly named) "The Cromwell"
that regicidal dictator, that homicidal dictator
that went about killing people in the name of God.

In a quirk of fate, England is shown surrounded by a later
dictator's icon, the swastika.

I am a sucker for these as well. The Scott Pathfinder is a copy of my first US album, around 1965 or so, this is a Jr version of the National or American album, and was way over my head, for a 8 year old kid, I remember being stumped as to why there were all these blank spaces with no pictures and only some goofy numbers.

There are some nice one there. Any interesting articles inside that 'date' the album.
The adverts in some of the albums are historically interesting too.
