If, like me, you've discovered that you have some of these rarer perf varieties in your collection, you may be wondering how to convert the schilling values to Euros. Here's a currency converter you can use:

Here's a couple of Austrian postmarks from me:

(1) KRAKAU BAHNHOF - 1870 - thimble cancel

(2) SAGOR - now in Poland - 'Nachma...' presumably means afternoon.

(3) Nice pen cancel - some kind of postmark starting 'K. K.'

The first postmark is from the Krakow (now, Poland) railway station. The third may stand for K.K. : Kaisserliche Koëningliche, that's "Imperial" (for Austria) and "Royal" (for Hungary).

Residential district of Wien and (!!) Budapest.

First: Pest/Terezvaros ../9/70 (these stamps were in use in the Hungarian Kingdom till 31.July.1871, in Austria they remained in use)
Habsburggasse/Wien
Josefstadt/Wien 8/../69
Bee See, I only keep what is cancelled in the Hungarian Kingdom - and unfortunately I have VERY few of them -at least I feel that way
All Austria I have is for trade for (Austria)Hungary pre 1900, and in the last instance they`re for sell... as soon I finish sorting the 1883 issue (guess one week), a big selection of nice cancellations will be offered for trade, then for sale (if no offer for trade)...Eventually let me know what to look for: region
-Bohemia (Czech)
-Moravia (Slowakia)
-Austria
-Galicia (Poland/Ukraine)
-southern parts (although I`ll some from Croatia)-Triest etc.

This one is new for me, and I`ll appreciate any information

I hope it`s visible, this stamp has an `embossed` mark in the middle:

M. J. Mandl
---------- (ornament)
Wien

A kind of `perfin`?

Here's two more interesting Austrians:

(1) Thimble cancel (KUFSTEIN STADT)

(2) Unusual, rather attractive cancel from Bosnia (please let me know if you know what it is):

Gewitsch, Moravia, now Jevícko in the Czech Republic.

Feldkirchen, Carinthia or Feldkirch Vorarlberg, not sure which.

Klagenfurt, Carinthia

I think Feldkirchen would continue too far around the circle, but I haven't searched out any examples to compare. I wonder if there would've been only one "Feldkirch" within the empire?

It is nice to see the i.d. along with the strikes, even the guesses.

This thread has some legs.

I thought about the length of Feldkirchen, but without the "en" it seems a tad too short. Maybe I will superimpose it in Paint shop Pro.

My latest purchase to my Hungarian collection (and first in 2 years!). So glad to find a Hungarian auction site (not only for stamps) and managed to be able to bid there!
`Debreczin`- now Debrecen

Not sure what this is...

One candidate might be Velký Drevíc but there are a lot of letters in that ring, and they don't really match much that I have been able to find.

[edit: the preview liked the Czech spelling, but the post didn't.]

Velky Drevic is good, because it`s former German name is Gross (i mean Gro- scharfes S) Drewitsch, and the GRO.. is visible on your stamp. A useful site for Bohemian (Czech) place names, scroll down to Gross Drewitsch:

yes, the last one (`Nagy Tany/907/Ápr/??/(Komár) M.) is definitely wanted! Nagy Tany, now 'Ton', Slovakia. And in the upper row are very interesting cancellations too... Now let's see what do I have from Northern Italy...
