Those 1965 UIT from different countries are interesting, as some details are varied and somehow they show uniqueness of each issued location. I counted them on page 12 list of stamps and following, and there are 13 different countries featured on this thread.

By the way, I found a snap of mine from an exhibition from Victoria & Albert Museum, London in 2020, show of traditional and contemporary Kimonos. The design year of this kimono is unknown (I didn't snap the credit) but maybe 1950's or 60's I would imagine by the colour... nice and modern. I want one like this to ware!

Amazing! Tomoko.

I think your guess of 1950's sounds accurate.

The installation of Pylons would begin around there.

After the end of the second World War in 1945, supply and demand for electricity remained very tight in Japan. A series of intense discussions were held on restructuring the electric utility industry as one of the measures for democratizing the economy. As a result, nine regional privately owned and managed General Electricity Companies— Hokkaido, Tohoku, Tokyo, Chubu, Hokuriku, Kansai, Chugoku, Shikoku and Kyushu Electric Power Companies were established in 1951 and assumed the responsibility of supplying electricity to each region. This fundamental structure remains to this day, and with the return of Okinawa to Japan in 1972, Okinawa Electric Power Co. joined as a tenth member.

I remember that electric currency were a bit different between Western companies and the Easterns, then house hold appliances such as iron had a tiny switch to change/adapt machine to the local currency... soooo illogical! - that's what I thought. I don't know if that is still the case there or not.

sounds accurate

Is that judged by those umbrella or mushroomy shape? If so, these ones below in White are the sound related, too?? This stamp is listed on the second sheet on page12, but somehow the original image on page6 is not shown on my browser. I wonder everyone has the same problem? Anyway, for the second time sharing.

Hi Tomoko,
I was referring to the year/s (around 1950)

The design, given the Pylon design, would be an artists impression
along with the insulators, I doubt if meant to be accurate.
A striking design for a Kimono.

Unable to assist there, bearing in mind SCF cannot show two images of the identical text string, that's what may be happening.
Change the name of the image, in that case.

Ah... thank you, Rod for the comment. I made my second-language-common-mistake, that I thought you mentioned the shape of those ones on kimono in relation to sound (sound enhancer or some kind of sort I just imagined..). Then I refer those mushroomy insulators from CCCP stamps. All sorted! Thank you again Yes, the insulators on shoulder and pylon on the back - I really want to ware this, if not on kimono (not very practical), then on my overcoat, maybe?

You are a fashion designer Tomoko,
The world is your Oyster.
I am sure you will come to some decision.

Watching the "Antiques road show" I just love the ladies who now are bringing back the 1940's fashion, dress, handbags, hairstyles, all the accoutrements.

Perhaps...for the lapel of your jacket ?
A rather becoming brooch.

Wow Rod!!
Did you just type "pylon on dress" and googled those images!?? Amazing, and I have to say that they are impressive but insulators have to be depicted better on the last dress...

or maybe I ware one of these small items as they are!?

Yes, just Googled Tomoko.
I shouldn't think any of those (lovely) insulators
would be appropriate for apparel, however, I see them as
a nice framed display on a wall.

I noticed yesterday, a house in my town has a front fence
with the larger intermediate posts, topped with Insulators.
Now I am seeing them everywhere

Glad to find three more stamps not posted yet in this thread, from Israel, Algeria and Laos. Here is the first:

This stamp was issued by Israel on June 11, 1991 as one in a set of three about "Electricity in Israel 1921-1991". The other two stamps in the set show electric poles but I think without insulators.

Despite local panic about rising power prices,
My last 60 day Electricity Bill has not changed.
Winter average $4.65 per day
Annual circa $1,300 at approx .33c per KwHour

Gas on the other hand, a 30Kg Bottle in 2018 $85, today $150
a rise of 77% over the 4 years.

Transmission towers (Electricity Pylons)
are their days numbered?

United Kingdom has 90,000 Transmission Towers.
Currently, Australia requires more than 10,000 Kilometres of new transmission lines.

The old Coat of Arms of Laos, used in years 1976-1991, had electric poles with insulators. It was changed in 1991 due to the fall of the Soviet block:

During these years, Laos issued many stamps show its Coat of Arms but the poles are not clear, like in this set from 1976:

The only stamp shows clear coat of arms is this one issued on December 2, 1985 to celebrate Laos national day. It also shows poles on the left:

I wonder Rod - are size difference of two countries reflected.. or more people moving to Australia?

Following LaoPhil's "Coat of Arms and insulators" stamp, I am featuring one from USSR. Smiling woman (with cotton harvest) is the rare combination with pylons, I have to admit! (and one from Algeria is now in my wish-list. thank you!)

Hi Tomoko,
complicated, both probably, also take into consideration changing grid systems for renewable systems.

Moving to Oz?
One has to look at NET overseas Migration
2007 to 2020 - average net gain of 226,000 per year - more temporary migration

In 2021 (Covid) we had a net loss of 88,000

Those figures mystify me, we don't seem to have sufficient real estate to accommodate, and homelessness is rising rapidly.

Here are three from Vietnam;

Vietnamese - Soviet friendships, set of two identical stamps, November 3, 1987:

Inauguration of Danhim hydro-electric station, set of four identical stamps, South Vietnam, January 15, 1964:

Not sure about this stamp and what is the left "cup" for. It was issued to publicize Saigon microwave station, South Vietnam, April 24, 1966:

While browsing Vietnam catalogue I noticed a stamp of 30d. issued August 30, 1987 shows worker on electric pole.
