Thanks James for the pictures of the Bank note from Italy.
Here are three of my favorites...
The Mille note from 1943 is HUGE at about 6 by almost 10 inches!
And only JUST staying in one piece.
The other two are both 1798.... 213 year old money.

Regards
Gavin

I'm really starting to like those old railroad related stock certificates. I've got my eye on a few for a possible purchase in the near future.

Ok, so I don't collect these per se, but I inherited an old tin cigarette box full of coins from my father. At the bottom were a number of old bills including a 1901 Austrian 1000 kronen note, now framed by my computer, an $1 George V Newfoundland bill, some US WWII military script and some shin plasters (Canadian 25c bills, noted for being worthless at the time and used to line soldiers boots, hence the name.)
Also were these Chinese bills which I always found very beautiful.

A little rough, but as someone posted about some tattered stamps, they've lived.

James, the map is framed now, but here it is from the original online ad I bought it from. The paper is in good condition for 400 years old.

I'm currently looking for one around the Montrose area of Scotland where my ancestors come from.

Something I've collected, even before stamps, is holy cards.

When I was little, my mother used them as "rewards" for doing jobs around the house. When I got older, I inherited some from my great-grandmother.

The picture below shows just a few from my collection. The little one on top was made by my great-grandmother for my mother when she was a little girl.

I collect 2 other types of things. They couldn't be more different if I tried. First, I collect police and law enforcement patches. I have over 750 different patches in my collection. Here are a few of my favorite ones.

Second, I am a huge Nascar fan (Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt)So I started collecting die cast race cars. I have no idea how many I have. I would estimate in the hundreds. This is my favorite display of some of the collection.

sharksfan, I used to collect police patches too. I don't collect now, but still have many. I can send you a Victoria Police patch if you don't have one.

Sharksfan, great collections. Beautiful curio cabinet also, my wife and I love old furniture.

My other collecting interest lies in Class III weapons and other type weapons. Just love the South, first legal to own automatic weapons then they thought to be courteous of your neighbor they legalized silencers.

1775mac , I can't even shoot a compound bow where I'm at ! I don't complain about no handguns but when I can't even take out a 12 gauge or .22 and unload some frustrations on skeet or bust a few bottles it really sucks. Canada all but wants a DNA test to own a rifle and believe it or not if your divorced they have the right to contact your X to make sure your of sound mind. Think that is ridiculous since it would take a pure silver bullit for the X anyway.

I am collecting old handwritten diaries, notebooks, journals etc. Sometimes some old collections of stamp and paper money also appears in them, so I am very happy in that situations. For example, this is and old diary of RAF officer, from the Egypt, and also some Egypt old paper money (James will probably be familiar with them) was preserved in it. For me it is just nice multiple collection :)
