These are 'small' Camel Postman stamps of 1948. The entire set includes the same design in both large and small stamps. They are similar to earlier versions except that the Arabic writing at the bottom has changed. Not anything to do with telegraph.

I think I've got it. Sorry about the SHOUTING. I was just trying to distinguish my question from your advice. ;-)

That's cool no need for apology,
just "heads up" to netiquette.

Glad you worked it out, should be typical regime for most stampboards.

Lawrence,
looks like the steamer "NEFERT-ARI" on your cover.

(Not my image)

rod222,

Can you please tell me the source of the photo you posted of the 10 piasters Sudan Military Telegraph below which shows the 2 different watermark types? I would like to know the name of the publication and author. Thank you.

wlbarclay, rod took a screenshot of plateflaw's post at the beginning of this topic, from the bottom of page 1. (rod keeps a picture of everything...he's like our own private Wayback machine.) I was able to unearth and save the image of the back of your 10p sheet. Very neat.

Thread Bumped : Dormant 5 years.

"Swap" from Calstamp : Sudanese Wmk
If pair is evidenced, I guess we can assume either Pmk forgery, or CTO.
(Half is supposed to be attached to receipt)

Supposed to be attached to receipt, yes, but not always carried through with stamps with counterfoils; think Italian parcel post stamps and Mexican revenues, among others. Gibbons prices these as full used pairs and used halves, intact pairs quite higher priced vs. halves.
