Hi Everyone,
I have three stamps that was sent to me that are very thick. They are very unusual but I am guessing they are not real stamps, that were ever used to put on package? They remind me of the 3D like kid things. Anyway, I would love some feedback on these. Thank you all in advance for your help.

Sue stamps, the Australian one is real, Australia Post produced a Mimi-Sheet with FDC some time back.

I have some somewhere, I think they are a part of the Surfing issue.

SueStamps, the 3D/holographic stamps are from 1973 and are Scott # 154A-C. They are described as simulated 3-dimensions using a plastic overlay. You also may be interested in the following thread: https://goscf.com/t/3451

Bhutan, little country above India in the Himalayan Mountains in Asia. They put out many 3D stamps like cars and tribal masks and animals from the 1970's and after and have some of the neatest odd stamps produced but I do not know if any ever have seen use in Bhutan. Not sure if a cancel would stick to the plasticized surface of one. Everyone likes them though. Good collectible but probably not a stamp for actual postal use.

Still, if you like the topic, say cars, they are beautiful. I think the abominable snowman (yeti or bigfoot) was on one.

Mhc99, what is the difference between 3D/Holographic and Lenticular images? Would it be 1 Dimension?

Mhc99, the reason I ask is because these Australian Surf Lifesaving Mini-sheets, issued March 2007, are termed Double definitive HD 2D Lenticular. When the sheet is moved the boat jumps/rides the wave.

Finches, I have several sheets of a 2009 stamp to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Montreal Canadiens hockey team and see from the below link that it employs lenticular technology:
http://www.arpinphilately.com/blog/...tive-stamps/
The Bhutan stamps in Scott are described as being 3-D but I have never seen them so I can't tell you if they display the same characteristics as the Montreal Canadien stamps.

The lenticular technology in the Canadien stamp enables you to see for example the #1 sweater for Jacques Plante on the lower left side of the sheet change to #10 for Guy Lafleur when you change the angle of the sheet.

And a postally used one! Self adhesive.
Still has packing tape and peeled cardboard on the back.

Here is an actual postally used one, presumably mailed in Bhutan though the correspondent is in India.

I kept the envelope even though the postmark is totally illegible except for the back markings as it arrived in Canada as a registered letter. Kept largely because it does show one that truly was used in a completely legitimate way.

KGV Collector, at the time of the Surf Lifesaving issue I noticed that there 'appeared' differences between the FDC Sheet and Normal Mini sheets.
Near the words Surf Lifesaving, quite a few people on the beach (human shadows) were faintly visible on FDC's thus I purchased a few extra. I'd forgotten about them until this topic was raised.

A very good eye finches.

I did wonder why our images were different.
I have one more mini sheet and 4 singles all
postally used still attached to the
parcel wrapping and was going to see how
they went as an image as well.
But too much to do at the minute.
I will find the balance soon.
Nice to use the term "postally used" again. John.

Sue Stamps, I purchased the Mini Sheets and FDCç at our Post Office at the time of issue. The First Australian Lenticular issue and twin $2.25 stamps during the Financial tightening, attracted my original interest.
