I was able to acquire the Swiss Post's 2000 Year Album which prominently featured the aforementioned Embroidery Stamp. What was interesting was that they also included a embroidered Vignette which will probably be brought up in future discussions about Cinderellas.

These FDCs are for a set of 2 stamps issued in 2010 by Morocco to mark Earth Day. The first stamp is printed on recycled paper made from shredded cheques, and the second stamp has real alfafa seeds pasted on it with a piece of round clear adhesive plastic.

Today, 13 August 2013, the Singapore Post released the City in a Garden stamp issue. This FDC is for the souvenir sheet, termed as Collector's Sheet by the local post office and sold at 60% above face value, has the seeds of the moss rose (portulaca grandiflora) attached to it with a self-adhesive round clear plastic, located near the pangolin on the left.

2 stamps for the City in a Garden stamp issue from Singapore are also released in self-adhesive sheets containing 2 1st local and 2 50-cent stamps. The 1st local stamps in the sheet have flower seeds attached to them - the black seeds near the pangolin.

OMG! Those are FABULOUS! I'm going to have to start collecting them. I especially love the first listing, from Austria. The edges look like Austrian crystal, which I love. Paper stamps are drab by comparison.

Are there dealers who specialize in selling these kind of stamps? Does anyone also collect the scented stamps? I am also interested in these odd ball type stamps. What would you call them? Gimmick stamps?

There was a Gibralter issue that had powered rock from Gibralter infused into the stamp.

I find this topic very interesting but I am only interested in those that are actually considered postage stamps.

Hi all,

just issued, the first stamp ever made from porcelain. Since I'm collecting those stamps made of non-paper material I obviously had to get one.

Hi,

Happy New Year to all.

The latest from the Austrian stamp labs: the leather stamp, both MNH and on cover.

I wonder about the wisdom of adding seeds to a stamp which might be sent around the world. Are the seeds still viable or are they nuked to prevent germination in unwanted locations?

It's forage crop, you can even it it as salad, the other one is a very small flower not invasive at all. Peoples who travel by planes are far more dangerous with all the diseases they bring with them

area66,
Kudzu (Japanese arrowroot) was bought into the USA during 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia; it now covers millions of acres and they spend millions every year trying to eradicate it. And it has some value too which was why it was justified at the time. But the only difference between an invasive weed and a native plant is where it is growing. This is why every state and country have many prohibitions on live plant material transportation. I also do not see how marketing tricks with stamps compares to the accidental transfer of disease due to air travel. Modern humans have a need to use air travel, the world can live fine without moving non-native plants about for a handful of 'seed' stamps.
