The Max Holste MH.1521 Broussard is a 1950s French six-seat utility monoplane designed by Max Holste (1913-1998), a French aeronautical engineer and the founder of an aircraft manufacturer (now known as Reims Aviation), primarily for use by the French military. Here is an image of an airmail stamp depicting a Broussard serving as a mail plane, designed and engraved by Claude Haley, and issued by Chad on December 16, 1963, Scott No. C12, plus a photo of a MH.1521 Broussard.

An aircraft infrequently seen on stamps, especially outside the French sphere of stamp issuing countries. Thanks for putting this one up, Nethryk.

Interesting set of stamps! Chile has issued a number of attractive aircraft stamps over the years.

Sort of strange uneven bold/light printing on the words "Aeronaves con Historia?" The font of these words and "Chile" under the value also has a typewriter look about it. Still a nice set. I'll have to see if I can find a source for it.

Don

Lieutenant Jan Olieslagers (1883-1942) was a Belgian motorcycle and aviation pioneer who set world records with both types of machinery. He was also an ace fighter pilot during World War I. Here is an image of a semi-postal (charity) souvenir sheet and the stamp contained within it featuring a portrait of Olieslagers and depicting a Blériot monoplane, designed by Belgian artist Oscar Hector Bonnevalle (1920-1993), combined engraved by Jean De Vos and photogravure, and issued by Belgium on June 12, 1976 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Royal Belgian Aeroclub, Scott No. B942, plus a photo of Jan Olieslagers in 1909. Bonus: Signature.

What an unusual aircraft that Couzinet 70 Arc-en-Ciel is.
A recent set I added to my album. Pity about the rust spot on the centre stamp. Is there a way to remove this? (without damaging the stamp)

Great posts, lovely stamps. Most notable are the posts by nethryk with a wealth of background information and pictures of the aircraft.

I'd like to add my two bits.

[Graf Zeppelin's Arctic Flight, 1931

Graf Zeppelin's 1931 Arctic Flight was both a scientific expedition and a dramatic display of the airship's ability under extreme conditions.

The five-stage flight covered 13,310 kilometers in 136:26 flying hours between July 24 – July 31, 1931, and literally changed the map of the Arctic region with the information obtained during the flight.

Germany overprinted the 1928 zeppelin stamps (C35-C37) with: POLAR FAHRT 1931

Russia issued a set of 4 stamps imperf & perf showing the Graf Zeppelin at the North Pole with icebreaker "Malygin" transferring mail.

1R imperf C28 issued 1931.
