The stamps pictured are 42Pfg. not the 50Pfg. Both are worth about $1-$1.50 USD as blocks of 4. |

well, for the info i'm still in process of buying it, btw for hitler stamps or another third reich era, after I saw another thread it's safe to conclude that for used condition and overprints series especially in occupied countries after germany had been doomed is more pricely priced ?
and is there any catalogue on WW2 periode stamps in scott or others ?

Be very careful when purchasing used Germany+area stamps during the inflation era or WWII (especially near the end and immediately after the end). The catalogs may list a significantly higher price for some used stamps, but those prices are for genuine postally used stamps. Many of those stamps exist as favor cancelled, post-cancelled, or fake cancels in very large quantities. That is why some of the used catalog values are italicized in Scott as a warning.
If you are collecting used stamps from that time/area, even if on cover, make sure you have done your research on the expensive items or insist on getting certification. Otherwise, you may think you might be getting a great deal, when in fact it is nothing more than a minimal catalog unused stamp with a non-genuine cancel. Be especially wary of "tied-on-piece" cancels that appear to have been cut from a cover. These were mass-produced as well and mean almost nothing. Even some covers were also faked, but not anywhere to the extent of single stamps and "on-piece" examples. |

I am neither expert nor specialist in Weimar issues. But I am not aware of any 50 million mark overprints. I am open to correction. There are, however, a couple of 50 million mark stamps that might initially look like overprints. Is this your stamp? Keep in mind that the great majority of the inflationary period Weimar stamps catalog at less than $1 each for mint stamps, and often are at the minimum Scott catalog value of 20c because they were issued in extremely large quantities that were never actually used for postage. |

Quote: there any catalogue on WW2 periode stamps in scott The Scott Standard Stamp Catalog covers that period. However, the catalog a general worldwide catalog and is arranged first by country name, and then time. If you are interested in using the Scott catalog for WWII era stamp listings, you will have to look at each country separately. There are a couple of stamp collectors here who specialize in WWII era stamps. They can likely provide you with better specialized resources. |
