In 1983 the RO Post Office issued a Souvenir Sheet ( " EUROPA" series ) to commemorate 100 years from first trip of the "Orient Express " train.
It shows the famous train arriving in Bucharest Railway station .

On 2 August 1987 was opened in Bucharest, RO an international exhibition with topic " Transport" .
On this occasion a maximum card was made with the Souvenir Sheet stamp . On the back of the card was glued the souvenir sheet stamp's " frame " which was cancelled with same pictorial postmark.

The first electric passenger train was presented by Werner von Siemens at Berlin in 1879. The locomotive was driven by a 2.2 kW, series-wound motor. The train, consisting of the locomotive and three cars, reached a speed of 13 km/h. During four months, the train carried 90,000 passengers on a 300-metre-long circular track. The electricity (150 V DC) was supplied through a third insulated rail between the tracks. A contact roller was used to collect the electricity.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting the 1879 Siemens electric passenger train, designed by German graphic artist Heinz Schillinger (1929-2008), printed by lithography, and issued by Germany on May 17, 1979 to commemorate the centenary of electric trains and to publicize the International Transportation Exhibition, held in Hamburg, Scott No. 1294, Michel No. 1014, plus an image of a contemporary photo of the train which was probably the model for this stamp's design.

Canada's salute to one of its early entrepreneurs: John Molson (1763-1836).
Besides setting up Canada's first steamship line, and being a very successful brewer, he built Canada's first railway in 1836, the Champlain & St. Lawrence Railroad, which ran from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu (then called Dorcester) to Laprairie in Quebec. The road bed still exists in places.

Canada #1117
The little locomotive, the "Dorcester", is depicted at the top right.
The steamship "Royal William", the first to cross the Atlantic in 1833, is pictured in the middle (and warranted its own commemorative, Canada #204 in 1933)
The Molson brewery, stylized at the bottom, at its peak in the 1950's, produced 1½ million bottles of beer a day and is still going strong.
