Lithograving : how can I get a nice and clear scanned image like yours?
I have a HP Photosmart C5180 all-in-one type.

I use the Epson Perfection 4490 photo scanner which I bought
over four years ago. Other SCF members also use Epson scanners
and post excellent scans, just look at nethryk's beauties
and AnthonyUK's.

I normally scan at 1200dpi without any editing except maybe
the odd time when I use the Picasa straightening tool.

I doubt there is a scanner as part of the All-in-one type that will
give you the results of a stand alone scanner.

Just to clarify my previous comment about "constant", since it appears to have been taken the wrong way.

I was not referring to the title of this thread in my reference to "constant" varieties; I was referring to a couple of the more recent entries that have been incorrectly described as constant when they are not (or suggested that they were constant varieties).

I agree 100% that many collectors will find some, or all, of the varieties shown here as being very fun to collect. I particulary enjoy this thread because of the items that are shown.

It is very important though to ensure that incorrect information is not being disseminated.

Unitrade #874

There's a variety listed as #874i - "Signal light at end of wing"

The following is not listed and I will call it "Fire in the Motor"

Sorry for the lack of quality of my scan
The red spot on the motor is obvious on the stamp

Good stuff koala, keep it up.
I enjoy seeing all those flyspecks and will search my meager stock
if I have any of them. thanks.

For me it's just amazing how collectors can nowadays interact with each other and
share information and get answers to questions.
I don't think young people realize today how difficult it was to get any kind of information
pertaining to stamps before the Age of the Internet.

Hi BlackJag

That Doubled Image is really something but I just can't see
how the printing process would have created that.

I mean I've seen colour shifts and missing colours but this one
appears to have all the colours printed twice.
Never seen that.

Is it yours?
