Endangered Caribbean Trees from St. Lucia, 1992 10c Exostema sancta-luciae 15c Coccothrinax dussiana 50c Quararibaea turbinate The tree on the 15c value is known as the "swizzle stick" tree. I guess that pretty much tells you why it is endangered...rum drinks, etc.  |

Fom Wikipedia, "Winds can reach considerable strength, especially on the exposed coast; most of the South Island's storms develop to the south or southwest of the island, and thus the Catlins catch the brunt of many of these weather patterns."  |
