Male dancer, designed by French artist and engraver Michel Monvoisin (1932-1982), printed by photogravure, and issued by Burkina Faso (Upper Volta) on April 9, 1966 as one of three stamps in a set publicizing the First World Festival of Negro Arts, April 1-24, 1966 in Dakar, Senegal, Scott No. 164.

The Lovale people of Zambia are known for their Makishi dancers who perform a masquerade in intricate masks and costumes.
