That is good news KGV. Meanwhile I will make $1000+ this month (and it is only my second month). One and a half more weeks of work. Then I am going to vamp my store up to 1000 + items, at least 50% buy it now, and see what happens. Things are just selling all the time now for me and I only got 250 items there. I have a bunch more old US covers to put on, when I get time:)They seem very popular. |

After a very bad experience in stamping for my youngest daughter over two years ago that turned her totally away from stamp collecting. She is now finally very happy to help me with stamping again. This means a great deal to me. Far more than just money. The shared time together is priceless. As she is well and truly a very busy adult now. It makes it even more special.
Have got a good score in 55c and 60c kiloware on paper and will start her with sorting and listing. I will do the soaking as it could put out the fire so to speak. And will slowly get her to do everything in listing 1966 to 1991 letter rate sets as a night auction. We do not have the time for this area so it is a great help. Many people need these stamps to finish collection just as much as other areas we cover. |

I find the best way is to go to stamp fayres and buy cardboard boxes of stamps and then put the labour in to sort them and sell on bidStart. |

Hi Duncan. As an ebay .com store USA I have had free auctions listings and relistings from the 8th Mar to the 31st Mar. Only a week to go. It has been a great time to experiment. We have saved heaps in listing costs. Good for over all profit. I have lots that only get listed on listing free days. Plus other stuff ready to go. Most times I get very little warning about free listing days. 1st thing I do each morning is to check for free listing days. |

Hi John Ok I got 287 listings now. I think from now on I will start to have a bunch of extra stuff scanned but not listed and when the free listing day is announced in my email I won't have to waste time scanning, just list list and list!@ USA & CA looks after their ebay sellers more than Aussie ebay does. KGV how are your bids going? Over 50? |

This week our bids have not gone under 45 and that is everyday 24-7 and our income has doubled.
It has been hard to keep 500+ listings per day. Listing mostly an average of 75 lots a day.
Our mailing is to about 20 people per day this week. I have even used self adhesive stamps, horror gasp!
Sundays I do nothing and I really need it. Roll on Sunday!

It took me an hour and a half to scan and list 25 items last night, but I mostly do this on my own, my mrs. writes the addresses on the envelopes and posts them. I want to see when I am retired, next free listing day if I can break KGVs listing record 120 in one day. I have a Canada # 2 with 10 hours left and 40 people watching it. Have a feeling that is going to reach a good price. Got a US 1853 letter on there as well with a heap of watchers so the income is going to be good by the end of the month. John I am glad your income has doubled, this is a good sign. |

Yes it is special. But as a horticulturalist I would earn the same money in half a day as we earn in a week and a half with stamps. A quote from me a couple of posts ago. Quote: It is so nice to be working again. It has been a long time since I have! This is a quote from Bobby131313 that is just so true and I believe it fits in here with good sound sense. Quote: My point was the sellers of under $5 or so items... Most think they're making money, when in reality they'd be better off working at McDonalds because they fail to factor in their time. If you make a $3 profit on an item but it takes 60 minutes to buy it, photograph it, list it, deal with questions on it, pack it, and ship it... whose making more money... you or the pimply faced guy flipping burgers at McDonalds? This is the part about selling stamps that must come out. It is something to do if you have no other income angles. And again it will not work if you do not know your stamps. I think it is very important that I do not lead people up the garden path so to speak when it comes to income and selling stamps. |

Look at one of my sales now: CANADA Un #2 Used Laid Paper Nice! CV C$2500 Current bid: US $415.01 [ 19 bids Time left: 46m 28s (Mar 22, 201222:37:05 PDT)
No working at Mac D is not better, if you just sell a few items under $5 sure you won't make money. You need to be selling 200 plus items and listing every day, cheap, medium and expensive range. Then you will make money especially if you buy bulk from auction house. And yes 50 sales a day X $3 profit per sale will make you profit. Yes it takes time to scan and list, but KGV is right, when you have no income the scanning and listing time does not matter, the end profit does. And it is achievable, I have done profit in both months!
