The `Dot in N` variety. A listed variety. I`ve gone through about 9500 stamps to find this item. |

A nice little find, although I don't know how I'd feel after going through 9500 stamps in order to find it! |

The Centennial Study Group newsletter mentions a mark on the horizon near the location of the airplane variety. They didn`t provide a picture. I think this is it. Booklet BK69. I only have singles of this variety so I don`t know if it is Row1/2 or Row2/2. Does anyone have this variety in a pair? |

Great stuff alanl. I have a batch of low value Centennials still in bundles waiting to be searched. This thread gives me a great idea of what to look for. |

Hey alanl, I have been trying to figure out the most efficient way to go through a large lot of stamps. Can you tell me how you do it?
I find sitting at a table with my head down looking through a glass gets tiring very quickly. I have tried with a magnifier attached to my glasses, and that seems to work better. Just wondered if you have a "method". |

The Optivisor head-band flip-down binocular magnigfier works a charm for no hands sorting. I have one with extra magnification lens anda loupe attachment. You can wear glasses underneath it also.
Search Google or on SCF here for pictures.
For seeing these Centennial stamps I imagine a USB camera connected to a computer screen would work also. Lots of reviws on SCF also. |

Thanks Puzzler, I have tried everything, but not an Optivisor. Do you find it is heavy on your head after a while? What magnification do you use?
I do have the USB microscope (I use it for close-up pics, but never tried it as a live scanner). |

Hi, having diabetes for all my life I find that my eyes need the #7 lenses pop-in and most times the loupe attachment also.
There are lesser strengths of magnification available with (I think) a #3, #5, #7 and somethng else smaller I think, lenses that pop in and out as needed, for both eyes together.
The higher the magnification, the heavier the lenses (plastic). The whole assembly is light and I find can be worn comfortably for hours if need be, with a sweat band of sorts part of the head band.
I do not have a USB camera or magnifier myself. |

I just use a small magnifying glass with a small stronger lens in the handle. I have a system for looking. A different one for each value. |
