To make a long story short (well shorter, 'cause it's not that long). The stamp is a forgery made by a stamp dealer from new Jersey in the 1930's.

Interesting history on the fake essay. I knew from the little write up it was not a legit issue . The write up is more of a sales pitch than explanation of the stamp. At a hair under $5 I still think its a good addition - I'd actually like to get the other NFLD cinderellas with the zepps just to make a page of these . I also have the nfld/labrador US ones that were mostly confiscated by the RCMP.
