Hi to all
I thought I would post this as a novelty.
All I know is that Ulm is supposed to have made the flight from Sydney on 11th April 1934, but this envelope is postmarked on the reverse April 10th 1934, but it looks like it left Melbourne on the day prior and arrived in Wellington on the 12th of April 1934 at 3pm.
From what I can find out the item was supposed to have landed at Auckland at 2pm on the 12th, but there is not a postmark, but on the reverse is one for Wellington 12th April 1934 at 3pm.
I can find no information of how it reached Wellington, as far as I know Ulm flew only into Auckland and he left Kaitaia on the 14th of April at 4.06 am and arrived back in Sydney at Mascot at 2.06pm.
Any other information would be appreciated.
Regards
Horamakhet

Most likely it was cancelled when it first arrived to be mailed (on the 10Th) and then the mail was most likely put into a mailbag and offloaded & driven to it's final destination then delivered without any further adieu. OR maybe a postal attendant forgot to adjust the time slug in the cancellation device? I'm pretty sure that someone will come along and correct me but both scenarios seem plausible. May be the earliest use on cover for that flight? Pretty darn cool anyhow! Thank you for showing it.

Not all covers were flown to Aukland. Some were flown to Wellington where some covers were offloaded and remainder flown to Christchurch. These covers I would assume were in a separate mail bag and never emptied in Aukland to receive a cancel.
Here is a link which discusses those flights.

Although many of the covers have Ulm - commander printed on them, apparently he was not always the pilot.
