Need more help identifing surcharged China.


These are Scott Type A59 but are a mystery.

Scott type A62. There may be only 2 different in this scan.

I'm sorry I can't give you Scott numbers, but you'll find the first three under Japanese Occupation - Shanghai, 1943.

The last four are all Post Office Savings overprints. You won't find them in Scott. These are the relevant characters



which you'll find in various fonts, as in your examples.

Top 3 are Singkiang based on the top right character.

Bottom 4 I think you can find in the overprints around the 500 series in Scott....

Strocksj, I think you're confusing the characters for 'New' in Sinkiang:



with the character for 'Temporary' in the surcharge:



The elements at right in the first character and at top right in the second character are indeed the same (traditionally known as the 'axe'), but the characters are different.
