ITALY 1914-18 WW I MILITARY LABEL REGGIMENTO FANTERIA

The central vignette design reminds one of Liechtenstein.

Castelfidardo on the left.

Palestro on the bottom.

Probably Sesia on the right.

The top line means "Infantry Regiment" and the picture seems to be that of a queen ( Regina ), but can not read any of the other words.

We can start with the fact that Palestro is a city in extreme NW Italy, scene of a famous battle in 1859.

Rerrimento Fanteria Brigata Regina
"Italian Infantry Queen's Brigade"

The image is probably Queen Elena of Montenegro. She was born Princess Jelena Petrović-Njegoš of Montenegro on January 08, 1873 and died November 28, 1952. She was the daughter of King Nikola I Petrović-Njegoš of Montenegro and his wife, Milena Vukotić. As wife of King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy;she was Queen of Italy from 1900 until 1946.

And, Castelfidardo is a city in east central Italy. Palestro, I now learn, is on the banks of the Sesia River. These places may be the scenes of famous battles of a specific Regiment.
