Wow! Thank you very much Collin. More 2d blues, mutilated cover piece Handstruck registration CLONCURRY (evident registration was the 5 pence) Now, if you think some of your Queensland stamps are bruised, some journeyed in cane baskets The CLONCURRY Mail buggy. ...and they suffered heat exhaustion..... |

Hi Rod. Found one Queensland in my collection of some significance. Can you help identify? Watermark is 68 (Crown and Q) and sideways, but I can only find one, not two as described for the 1882 issue. Is it possible to only have one watermark? Thanks. |

In regard to Queensland watermarks, Scott's 68 appears to match Stanley Gibbons' #6, for the most part. Scott doesn't seem to list a match to SG #5. (Two-part crown versus three-part crown.)
I'm sure I'm just missing something, and I should look again. |

5/- Queensland Rose This is a SG Type 9 comes with 3 watermarks As far as I can see only wmkd twice It can only be one of 3 possibles It has to be one of 3 wmks now it is up to you to determine the correct one Give me the wmk num and we'll have your stamp Update: If it is only wmkd once then it has to be 1886 wmk 10 CV = GBP28 (1993) SG159wrong again If the wmk is sideways, HAS to be SG154 (wnk5) or SG163 (wmk6) (clue) SG 163 is thin paper |

OK, last ones that I found. Here is Victoria, 1899, Perf 12 1/2 and watermarked. The first stamp is Imperf, no watermark, so I'm assuming that it is a Proof. Any comments? |

What to look for ? Perf 12 = $12
Postmark 131 = Gladstone. Rod, Think you might have a typo here, or am I lost in the translation? |

Rod,
Well, it IS watermarked sideways, only one watermark visible. It is closest to #5 in your examples, though reversed when viewed from the back. I only have the Scott catalog, but your help is appreciated. |

Very interesting. 1. Looks like it was postmarked, the hammer was out of ink and gave a poor strike, it was re inked and re applied. 2. Revenues were often placed on a "spike" on a clerks desk a hole is no never mind to the true philateslist 1871 no wmk Barefoot 22, 2/6d orange eng by william knight of brisbane, litho by govt printer sheets 120 background lines have value in words? (close up please?) P13 exist with and w/o burele band CV GBP 2.5 1873 same design no burele band wmk crown Q perf 12 or 13 |

Bearing in mind, I assume a fiscal cancellation that affects price I guess. (I am learning as well :) engraver h bourne recess govt printer bris, from BW plates. Nice stamp, look forward to getting the set. |

Thanks for all your help so far Rod. My Scott Specialized has pictures of watermarks, but all reversed, meaning shown from the back, so sorry for my confusion. The Postal Fiscal closeup is shown below and definitely has lettering in the background. Perf 13, and I cannot locate the Watermark. |
