Hi to all the members in this forum once again and I have not yet been logging into this forum for several months because I was busy for working but I am free from now onward start from today.

I have a copy of Australia king george 3d stamp with GNSW perfin in sideway position of the stamp. There are two missing pin holes in letter N perfin and the rest of the letters perfin holes are normal without missing any pin hole on the stamp.I would think it looks more like a number 11 or double I in the N perfin as G11SW or GIISW perfin there and read it as government 11 south wales or government I IS WALES from the perfin on the stamp. It is all depend on how you look at it and think about the perfin.I have seen there is one missing pin hole but not two perfin holes for the letter N of this GNSW perfin on the stamp and not really sure if this kind of thing happened is common or rare on the australia stamp or not because I am not a specialist in australia stamp to be honest.

It is very interesting to me and I always look at it.I need help to identify the perfin which is considered an error or not because I really have no idea what happened to this stamp during the period. Please give me your personal opinion and explanation in detail there.I would apprieiciate your help very much as usual. Please look at the scans below and let me know what you think.Thank you

Scanning perfins works best on a Black Background.

I very much like my perfins but there are many bent pins, missing pins, stamp sheets put in sideways, stamp sheet folded to make a reverse perfin.

They are great to collect all these different ways the perfins are made but they really are not worth any money but worth a lot to a collector.

Many forgeries of all sorts of perfins took place in the 70's and 80's and it is still going on probably. This has stopped perfins from being valuable as not many can be proven to be real.

I really like my stamps with some unusual perfins especially the inverted OS perfin on the australia stamps and I think their not real now after I heard from you above there.I am really feel so disappionted to hear that from you most of the perfins were forgeries for so many years gone by and it is still going on until this day, well said there and I have to fully agree with you.I think you are a stamp collector from there and I have to give up on the perfin stamps from now onward due to the reason except for the overprinted stamps for my collection.

I wouldn't give up on perfins completely. I don't actively search for them but find them interesting. As mentioned items such as the OS from Australia have been exploited beyond belief but if you randomly come across them rather than purchase directly it is worth having some extra eyes take a closer look. Personally I'd get fooled by most but others can detect these very well.

I agree with nitrolures.

It is a blessing in one way. At least we can afford the perfins.
