Cal516, the Canada Post website is a bit hazardous to ones health. But you can get type 1 and 2 there, but I am not sure about type 3. Type 3 is available at post offices in my area. Since you are in the US I can get it for you at face plus postage, if you cannot get it. I don't have type 2 or extras of type 1 yet. |

Here is an interesting exercise... 1. Visit a post office and ask them if you could look a full box of 10 rolls of one of the new Baby Wildlife coils (P, 1.10, 1.34 or 1.80). 2. line up the die cutting from roll to roll to ensure that all 10 rolls in the box were slit at the same time (takes about 3-5 minutes). 3. purchase the box (unless they will sell you the first 10 stamps from each roll). 4. at home, unwrap the 10 rolls and line up the underprint on the back (the text can be seen through the 'thin' backing material). Here is a cropped image from 4 rolls of the new $1.10 Porcupine stamp showing the underprint pattern: [By the way, this the 19th Lowe-Martin die cutting pattern. Stamps from column 6 have a 'significant' perf difference from the other rolls, but that is off-topic in this thread.] |

Quote: After the mass forging of the olympic and lighthouses P stamps to the tune of 12 million worth I can see reasons for security features That's interesting nitro, when did all this take place and can you provide any links? As for this underprinting, why/how is this a security feature? Who checks stamps as they go through the mail stream? I bet most Canada Post employees wouldn't know the difference whether there is a label or cut out or a real stamp on a letter. A lot of mail just goes through without being cancelled and some goes through without any any stamps on the letter/postcard. Same with all these fancy tagging features. Are they for "security" or just for collectors? |

""Phone the National Philatelic Centre (1 800 565-4362) and order it ... that is how I was able to get it.
Tell them you couldn't find it on the website and they may wave the $2 handling charge.""
Just spent 12 mins on the phone to CP and they had no idea what I was talking about. The lady on the phoned talked to someone else and didn't get any additional info. If you ordered yours online this furthers my opinion of CP as well as their website. Poorly run and poorly organized. |

When I phoned I gave them the product number (see earlier in this thread) and was done in no time.
Sometimes these 'specialty' items take time to get added to their website. Thats why if you talk nicely on the phone they will usually wave the $2 handling fee. |

I haven't been able to find either of the two new reprints on their website; in fact, certain items cannot be found that way (you would think that would be an obvious search method).
I believe in both cases I had to phone the National Philatelic Centre and order them; would be far more convenient if they had these on their website. |

BeeSee I am looking for the 2nd reprint of the 2012 booklet "Canadian Pride" I have the original and the reprint that corrected the spelling mistake, just need the new/2nd reprint with the new underprinting. When I phoned CP the lady had no info on this new reprint, in fact she seemed vague on this new underprinting scheme. I didn’t check with the local post office today but will go in on Monday. An earlier comment said that if you had a standing order CP sent you one. I had decided to stop my collection with the end of 2012 and concentrate effort and $s with earlier issues so I cancelled my standing order thus I missed the new reprint. I would like to get one because it was issued in 2012. |

I "mailed" myself the "Olympic Athlete" stamp (Scott 2501) with the underprint today (actually, I had it hand cancelled). Then soaked it. Here is an untouched scan of the back: So, a soaked used copy still shows the underprint. Perfect; a new variety to look for in used mixtures! |

Lithograving Here is post from when the news broke about the massive fraud with the olympic and lighthouse P stamps. Seen a few sellers have the fakes on ebay postally cancelled. The die cutting was different (studystamps may have more info) as well as a couple other issues but was a very large multi million dollar bust. https://goscf.com/t/13916&SearchTerms=fraud |
