It may seem silly but this question has always been in my mind.

Will the value of a stamp change if it was cancelled by a foreign country, not the home country?

Example,: A Machin stamp cancelled in US or in Canada.

Yes, with some exceptions. If the cancellation is a receiving mark, it may detract. If the cancellation is "Paquebot," it may increase. If the cancellation is a consular mark, it should increase.

If the other nation's cancellation is on-cover (and simply a mistake), that will still appeal to some collectors.

A premium can be added in many cases! The colonial powers of Europe, especially the United Kingdom, operated their own PO's within other countries. War time can cause this to happen provisionally and can be valueable to Philectic history collectors. Modern one's generally are manufacture and are not exceptional!

could you scan the item?

Here is an example of just one type U.S. "Diplomatic Pouch Mail" (Consular Mark)

This cancellation increases the value of the stamp 100x, and more. Reason: it was the "How the mail was conveyed" or "The type mail service provided to the letter/parcel.

A receiving postmark found on early classic issues are very valuable to the postal historians. A good example gives evidence of the destination or routing of the early mails, epecially where the cover of the stamps are extremely rare and this is the only way, such is the case with the Large Dragons of the Imperial China.

Not in great condition, but here is a Military cover from WW1, US Washington cancelled in Paris. Military mail if not free franked is a good source for foreign cancels.
