I recently acquired these 6 tropical bird stamps from the unrecognized Republic of South Moluccas -- the set of 8 stamps was printed in the 1952-53 time frame.

Although I could have posted these images in one of several SCF threads with references to stamps from this breakaway republic, I thought that, in lieu of international recognition, the RMS should at least warrant an SCF thread of its own.

The Richard C. Witt Cinderella Reference Collection has 13 pages of South Moluccas issues.

At the link is a dealer-prepared catalog of the RMS issues; the valuations are his retail prices.

I went to file my RMS birds and found that I already had cinderellas linked to this entity. These MacArthur stamps came out in 1951 or 1952 (depending upon the reference source). This partial set is hinged to its original approval sheet; unfortunately, I don't know what company was selling them.

I'll only post one enlarged image of a stamp from this set (but will post the others if someone would like to see them).

I remember the bird set as a standard packet filler from my youth (late 1970's) and probably well before
