I was eating when I figured out that stamp! Lost my breath cough cough gag.
Now, let me ponder this, who could you mean? I just can't imagine.
Nice stamp by the way.

Obsolete medical terms... a spastic was a term used to describe a person who suffers from Cerebral Palsey. It is considered an offensive term in Britain.

As a kid we would call someone a "spaz" aka a spastic. Kids can be cruel. |

Would that be a representation of Joseph and Mary? If so, what does that have to do with "spastics"?

That strikes me as a Christmas time stamp or cinderella and you probably got that when you donated money in aid of Cerebral Palsy so you could show people you cared for that cause.

Rohumpy & Puzzler, I think you are both right. I think it is from the 1960's-1970's era due to the color scheme. |

Yes, inspiring people, attempting to raise awareness of one of society's terrible afflictions. Simple seals for attaching to mail around Christmas time as a means of support. Here, a slogan for Mother's day, a tribute to generally the prime carer and support. |

One of these years I'll post all my Cardiology stuff.
I was a "Blue Baby". Is that an obsolete term? I proud to say I was a "Blue Baby" and lived to adulthood!

Congratulations David. Nice that you stayed around. I myself find myself to be an ongoing experiment in many parts of my body. Perhaps brain too, but they haven't told me about that part yet. |

These cindys intrigued me, so a quick search and sure enough, almost 3 years later, we're back here again. My, the Brits have a way with the language, don't they? Well, I guess they should, they invented it. |

Oh my goodness... Now I'm just saying here.. that if you didn't know what you was looking at and seen that stamp, you may just be inclined to think that perhaps there were spastic shepherds about? |
