Phil, I have done the same thing. Perusing ebay and thinking "I'll help that seller", not actually intending to purchase the lot. I do end up with more than I intended that way. A couple of glasses of wine does not help restrain me, either. |

Hey guys, you are not alone! I've won two Scott album auctions that I was just "playing with" by putting in low bids - and finding out the next morning I won the auctions. No complaints, they were well worth it. |

This is why I paid $US100 for a Lynyrd Skynyrd belt buckle!
I don't impulse buy, I use Auction Sniper so it is all premeditated.
I have no excuse at all. |

I am not ALONE ! the Scott albums can come in handy for replacement binders...when I bid I look first at the shipping cost..i have to factor that in then I place my bid..i am amazed when the winning bid is 3 times or more what I bid ! |

I know that feeling. Plus I hate getting outbid. A few months ago I dropped about 4 grand on stamps LOL. Not complaining since they were nice pieces but I stay off ebay and BidStart these days till my stamp fund grows a little again. CF |

My name is Kathey and I have become a stampaholic. It started so innocently...a bid here, a bid there. Then some more bids! Before I knew it, I was bidding on 1000 stamp lots, even though I knew they contained lots of practically useless stamps. Sometimes I would win a bid and the stamps came and were disappointing. "Next time" would be better... Now, I visit SCF when I have the "urge" to bid...But, maybe I'll become an SCFaholic. Drat! |

Once you're hooked, I am not sure anything short of an intervention and 28-day rehab program can break the habit. Good luck, Kathey! |

No, Phil you are not alone! I too am a stampaholic and an avid ebay scourer (). Heck I'll bid on things sometimes that I wonder "How am I going to pay for this if I win??" ha-ha! I always do though! On the bright side I do end up with some pretty neat stuff though! |

centerstage98: Maybe we need a short term topic (about 28 days) on which we can post our urges and receive support, guidance and reality checks from each other? For instance, I just got off ebay and there are stamps I WANT, but do I really need them right now? Will the package arrive, be opened and placed at the bottom of an ever growing pile "for later"? Puzzler: Maybe I'll just memorize your inspiring words and bid only on items that will make me a GOOD STAMP COLLECTOR! |
