The stamp images for the Liberia post, and the countries after that, were made with an Epson V600- (not the V500, but close), so you can judge for yourself.
If you want to review a long thread that "debates" various scanners- see ....
Scanners are pretty much scanners anymore. The scan quality is high enough that most any of them will work for web site use (which is where most stamp scans wind up) and most of them are about as reliable as any other*. If you are submitting a book for publication you'll want to be a bit pickier. Buy from a local dealer so it can't be damaged in shipment, and make sure that they have a decent return policy...and you will be fine.
*You can spend big money on one and it won't last through the warranty period, or you can buy a cheap one that will give good service for years...that part is a crap shoot.
I have three Epson scanners at home..been using them for years. We use to have a Canon scanner at the office...didn't care for the software that it came with...replaced it with an Epson which comes with great software....especially if you set it to the Professional mode...it gives you more control of the settings. Also does a great jog scanning slides and negatives. I would recommend the V500.
Thanks a lot friends. I use 4 in 1. Yesterday I just fugueed out why my picture scanned from my canon mx892 are so unclear. It because I use the scanner software.not scanner driver.after I click "use scanner driver" ,the image is much more clear than using software ..
