The third stamp of the Solomon sheet shows T-34 tanks (Russian) breaking through the barbed wire of Auschwitz.

Romania commemorated the end of World War II with a stamp featuring two soldiers overcoming a barbed wire entanglement. 1948 The Day of Romanian-Soviet Alliance: two flags and dates.

The Emergency Committee to save the Jewish People of Europe was based in New York City. It issued charity labels to draw attention to the horrors of the persecution of all people of that religion. The swastika is made of barbed wire.

Barbed wire had to be removed from Sword Beach for the troops to move inland, June 6, 1944. It can be seen in the background of the photograph used for the British stamp of 1994.
