Taking apart a large dealer inventory ,here is one that was misidentifed . Over the years I have kept damaged high price stamps ,which now serve as reference copies when I come across possible forgeries and helps identify the different fakes.
JENNY2U-----Your comments brings up two important points -------First ,when I post a fake I include a real copy next to it ,so each person can make their own opinion . This is not done with a lot of forgery sites on the internet .Second the philatelic organizations and different experts who have the material don't want the collecting community to stop the flow of expert opinions which is a source of revenue for them. They had 14 years to do something on line .There will always be a few select items that can't be correctly I.D. from a scan. But most fakes standout when matched to a real stamp plus a explanation .
