I think you misunderstand, Pisti. This was cut from an envelope or postcard. The stamp is printed directly to the paper. These are known as "postal stationary".

Postal stationery cut-out as mentioned. It's from a wrapper and the green band would be at the top and bottom for the length of the wrapper. From around 1883.
