I have a good story to share...
It's not what you know but who you know...
Here is the story quoted from my Bangladesh contact...

"By the way recently Bangladesh police has caught some forgery of different service stamps & there is also the 30p Baby taxi (Motorcycle) stamp. The service overprint was by letterpress. The reason of the overprint was to meet the demand for use in a fraudulent office to pretend that as a government institute. Police burn all the forgery but only a sample of 10 items were kept as evidence.
A philatelist has a friend in Bangladesh Police Head Quarter. He requested his friend to give him 4 sample for his collection. After knowing this I requested him if he can spare one for me & he agreed. So currently only 4 stamps of that service forgery overprint is in market."

I now have the stamp. It's a genuine fake! :)
The same person found me a very rare Bangladesh proof from the Russian printers stamped "Preserved in postal archive" the real deal also.

Anyone else have interesting stories about how you got a stamp via "someone you knew"?

The Bangladeshi Police seem to have a fairly uncommon approach to evidence.

Terry"

They do seem to have a fairly flexible culture when it comes to rules.
It reminds me of the Italians... "In Italy they can make as many laws and rules as they like,... as long as they don't inforce them" :)
