SG is noe selling self sticking Davo mounts- has anyone tried these and if so what is your opinion? My experience with self sticking mounts has been negative on the whole. Usually the adhesive bleeds through the paper.

I can only find these for now on the SG website.

Hi Stamps1962,

Might be worth a try. As they don't need moistening then it eliminates unsightly distortion of the back side of the leaf caused by over wetting. Davo extra heavyweight paper is 170 gsm. Any paper 150 gsm or over should be fine. Not sure about gum soak from other self stick mounts though as I haven't come across any before. Can you say which make they were?

Here's where I go on my rant about using a glue stick to mount your mounts, since glue sticks are 100% moisture free.

Well, SG has them in their ebay Store -- $11.50/pack + $3.85 shipping.

I subscribe to Gibbons Stamp Monthly and the September issue has a small packet of samples of the new mounts. I plan to try them in the next few days and will report back.

Nearly three months have gone by and I am wondering if these mounts are ever going to be made generally available here in the US? Thus far they seem to be only available from Gibbons in the UK and come with a steep price. Probably it is early in the game. Anyone have any information?

Right- I used and liked them. The covering on the adhesive side peels off easily but is not thick enough to create problems if you need to trim down. I was skeptical as to the re usability of these but find they will peel off a page and not leave sticky residue like the ones White Ace makes. Good for people like me that mount and remount my stuff over time.

About the only outlet I see for these is Gibbons, either on their site or on ebay. I was hoping to see them available by now from Subway, etc. Maybe the maker isn't allowing much of a dealer discount. Anyway I'd like to know if anyone has found them someplace other than SG.

bidstart has them in SGs store, but they still ship from the UK. I suppose Regency Superior might carry them at some point, as they are a US source for SG.

Bumping. Are these available in the US yet? I know Mystic Stamp mounts are rebranded Davo mounts. Perhaps they'll start carrying these at some point.

Still not finding any, not exactly sure why not.

I got some samples and found them a snap to use. You have to wonder if suppliers are loathe to promote them in order to protect the investment in stock of the other stuff.
