Hey wert. I don' t know much about fluorescence on stamps, but I see Unitrade lists four different versions.
HF = high fluorescence
LF = low fluorescence
DF = dull fluorescence (uncoated non florescent paper)
HB = hi brute paper.

Again, I don't know what these mean, not my collectiong area, but that might explain the different colours you're seeing. The catalogue also says that soaking the paper can effect the fluorescence of the stamp.

As for the trim, the catalogue makes no mention that I can see. Just a bad day at the cutter, maybe?

As the right stamp has a glossy finish, it can't be DF - uncoated paper (604iv), so I think it may be LF (604).

The left stamp doesn't seem bright enough under UV for Hibrite (604i), so it could be HF (604viii).

Wert - check the perfs as they do not match in the top 15% of the stamps. Should be 10.0.

Not sure why the size difference, unless soaking made one stretched or one shrunk.

Robert, luminescence is a bit like quicksand. If you don't watch it very carefully you will drown in it!
I am not familiar with Canadian coil, but my experience with US coils I would suggest your two stamps are the same. Just a case of more or less taggant in my opinion.
Sorry, forgot about the difference in height. I think it is just the cutting knife was adjusted sloppy. A US coil series, antique furniture, shows a variation in height also. I suppose a specialist will collect these varieties?
