Both it and the Forte listing are right, and both are wrong.

What does this mean? Are the listings right or are they wrong?
From what I gather by the previous responses, the post office used the one word name "Clearview" from 1895-1907. The two word "Clear View" was used from 1889-1895 and again from 1907-1916.
It is, however, curious that the 1912 postmark shown in the initial scan is clearly shown bearing the name "Clearview" (one word) during the period when the post office was apparently known as "Clear View" (two words). (I guess the small post office didn't want to pay for a new postmarking device just to add a space between the two word post office name.)
Thank you all for the information on this post office location.
As I look at a period map of Cayuga County, I suppose it wasn't really a town so much as just a section or neighborhood of King Ferry, NY which in itself appears to have been part of Genoa, NY, a larger community that apparently had multiple post offices in and around its vicinity.
