In the Champions of Liberty series, a 4 c and and 8 c were issued. For the very first one which islarger than the subsequent issues, I think only one stamp was issued. The cover has used 8 c for the cachet and the stamp is the 4 c. Nothing unusual about this IMO.

Oh, and by the way, welcome to the forum. Glad to have new people here.

I am wondered why it's stamped by 4c and not 8c since the covered is obviously for 8c..if this mistake/lapses done by FDC authority, so something interesting here, right?. IMHO

BTW, thanks rohumpy for warmness welcome

They were issued with a 4¢ and an 8¢ version of each stamp. Maybe as you suggest, the FDC people simply put the 4¢ stamp on the 8¢ envelope. Or maybe there was only one cover for each pair of stamps.

Both these are Simon Bolivar:

These kinds of covers are available to individuals who wish to "service" their own FDC. There is no reason to assume that this was serviced by Artmaster or that a mistake was made. When individuals service their own covers, which they purchase from cachet makers like Artcraft and Artmaster and then afix whatever stamps they feel like, you get all kinds of variants. Nothing really unusual here. Certainly nothing that anyone would pay extra for.
