Yep - these were popular in the 1870s-90s, this one being from Thomaston, Maine.

stampcrow...Beautiful stamp, but you know what I noticed, about my American friends...Half of them posted stamps that are not from the USA, come guys brag your country up..haha

That's a nice plate block, Stallzer, but here's a couple of questions:

1. Is there a plate scratch on the UL stamp?

2. It is probably an optical illusion, but I see that the "X" in "ALEXANDER" looks more like a "K" on the UR and LR stamps as compared to that on UL and LL stamps. Do you see it?
