Plate Proofs - How Big Should They Be In Size..?

Hi guys...Take a look at my Newfoundland Scott #72P proof plate on Indian paper...Is that how small they are originally, or is this one trimmed down..?

I think it may be from the left side of the plate and the large margin is from the selvedge of the plate. The other three margins are consistent with the spacing of the images on the plate.

Plate proofs are usually much smaller than die proofs since plate proofs are taken from the plate which consists of many stamp subjects just like the sheets and panes that are printed from the plate so that the spacing around the stamp subject is usually just like on sheets and panes, except for the margins which can be much bigger.
