Awesome, mac!

The blocks are great - thanks for posting. The $1 blocks are especially nice. Is there term for a block that has two different plate numbers?

Hi Kirk, the plate numbers asigned to the 1,2,5 dollar issues have two numbers because of the use of two plates. One plate needs to be tracked for the outer frame of the stamp and color. The second plate is being tracked for the vignette (the portrait or picture) portion of the stamp.
Basically, when mutiplie colors are used on one stamp, mutiplie plates are used for each stamp's color. This is clearly seen on plate block, strips from the 70's that had 6, 8 or even 10 colors inked on a stamp. These strips in turn would have a number for each color or ie. plate.

Of course, you probably all know about the Marshall Islands version...

1775mac can always check to be sure, but it shouldn't be.

The USIR PBs (Scott #832b) are only known to exist on 220xx plate number combinations with no arrow markings.

Since the PB in question has the black plate 24494, it shouldn't be watermark USIR. But, you can always wish and check... that's how a lot of the varieties are discovered!

What you say makes sense of course -- the plate numbers are printed in the two colors used on the stamp. I didn't even notice that before.

Looks like they will have to make up a new issue they are missing the big O.

I know we're not supposed to talk politics here, but if he can pull us out of the big R (recession), I'll vote to put his face on the dollar bill and as many stamps as he wants.

That must be a regional thing hasn't effected us in my little world at all.
