Just arrived today fresh from ebay. The early bird gets the Buy-It-Nows.

First is a nice example of R6f, two-cent Bank Check orange, bisected. With a pair paying a 5-cent tax.

Next is a set of 5 sheets (10 pages) of ganged payroll receipts. I've seen some of these before, usually with R6c, R15c, or the 5-cent perforated. This is the first set I've seen with all imperfs. 1865 is somewhat of a late usage for imperfs.

33 R5a singles and 3 pairs.

Several of the singles and pairs were very carefully cut, resulting in some XF examples, especially the left margin pair. Low-catalog value, sure, but very attractive.

Interesting set of documents.

Rev:

I am not familiar with revenue stamps. Can you explain the purpose for which these stamps were stuck to three-holed notebook paper? The same 2 cent stamp is used for each entry even though different dollar amounts are indicated.

It's a receipt tax, 2 cents regardless of the amount of the receipt.
